Optimum Intake Dietitians

Optimum Intake Dietitians will provide you with dietary education on how to change not only what, but how you eat and how to achieve optimum nourishment for your body as you transition through this process.. Although some eating changes can sound simple, in reality, breaking years of eating habits can be hard and your team is there to support you through both the successes and the set backs along the way. We will help you to understand and manage the changes you may experience so you can make the best decisions for you. From experience we have found that this support and education is fundamental to long-term success with bariatric surgery.

Optimum Intake Dietitian – Laura See

Our Dietitian Laura See is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, a member of the Dietitian’s Association of Australia and an associate member of the Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society. She graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics for the University of Newcastle. Laura had been providing nutrition counselling services in private practice before joining Optimum Intake Dietitians in 2019. She is actively involved in continual professional development in the area of bariatric surgery, supporting individuals through the surgical journey from pre-operative nutrition assessments, ongoing nutritional management and helping clients post-surgery with changing eating habits.

Laura recognises that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to health and is passionate about working with individuals to achieve their health goals through developing positive, long-lasting eating habits. She believes in helping people discover the ways in which a balanced, consistent diet can help them experience more out of life. Optimum Intake has specifically designed a bariatric surgery care package, in conjunction with your surgeon, to maximise the support we can provide our clients. The package includes a comprehensive pre-operative assessment and post surgery reviews over a period of 12 months.

Optimum Intake Dietitian – Madeline Stone

Maddie is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and member of Dietitians Australia, with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Newcastle. Maddie has been part of the Optimum Intake and Coast Surgery team since 2022. She has completed extensive training in the field of Bariatric Surgery Nutrition.

Maddie is a kind and compassionate dietitian and takes a highly collaborative approach with everyone involved in supporting clients to achieve their goals. Maddie considers the of various aspects of health along the post-surgical journey including physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing. Maddie enjoys seeing clients build on their knowledge, skills and confidence when it comes to food.

Maddie aims to provide clarity and confidence on people’s nutrition journey. Maddie is excited by the opportunity to see people develop positive relationships with food, enjoyment in everyday eating and confidence to make sustainable change.

Optimum Intake Dietitian – Kate Clarke

Kate is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and member of Dietitians Australia, with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Newcastle. Kate has completed additional training in Bariatric Surgery Nutrition and is equipped with the knowledge and skills to support clients on their post-surgical nutrition journey. Kate joined the Optimum Intake and Coast Surgery teams in 2023.

Kate is a friendly, approachable dietitian who enjoys supporting clients during their initial 12-month surgical journey and beyond. Kate is passionate about the role of dietitians as part of the bariatric surgery support team and works closely with the Coast Surgery team to support optimal outcomes.

Kate thrives on working in a person-centered role and knew she wanted to work as a dietitian from a young age after developing a passion for the science behind nutrition and food. Kate has a particular interest in plant-based nutrition and can equip clients with this dietary preference with knowledge and practical tips to ensure optimal outcomes post bariatric surgery.
